Our Mission
FollowerLost was created with a single mission: to provide Instagram users with insights about their follower relationships while respecting their privacy.
In a world where data is often collected without users' knowledge or consent, we believe you deserve tools that analyze your data without storing it. Every feature we build starts with one question: "How can we provide value without compromising privacy?"
Why We Built This
Instagram doesn't make it easy to see who unfollowed you. Many third-party apps claim to help, but they often require your password, collect your data, or both. We wanted to create something different.
By using Instagram's official data export feature, you can download your follower and following lists without ever giving anyone your credentials. FollowerLost then analyzes this data entirely on your device.

How It Works
FollowerLost processes Instagram data using a privacy-first approach:
- You download your Instagram data export directly from Instagram
- You select the JSON files using our tool
- Your browser processes the data locally — no server involved
- Results are displayed instantly and nothing is stored or uploaded
The Team
FollowerLost is developed and maintained by a small team of privacy-conscious developers. We believe that useful tools don't have to come at the cost of your personal data. Based in the European Union, we're united by a shared commitment to building a better internet—one where users have control over their information.
Our processing infrastructure is hosted on Netlify (static content) with all analysis logic running client-side in your browser. No user data ever reaches our servers.
